In 2002 Philip Lord established his own independent consultancy service to provide advice and assistance to industry on digital archiving.
Philip Lord has over 10 years’ experience with major global pharmaceutical organisations, most recently with GlaxoSmithKline, working on the management of regulatory documentation and the archiving of digital data in the R&D environment.
His previous background work in scientific, medical and technical publishing in blue-chip companies was underpinned by an early career in medical research. He has over 20 years’ solid experience of applying information technology and information management skills to solving business problems. Philip Lord has extensive international experience, working with senior management in Europe, North America and Africa.
He is a member of the European Union’s DLM Scientific Committee on digital archiving and good electronic records management practice, and his professional activities have included vice-chairmanship of the ANSI Committee on CD-ROM standards leading to ISO 9660. He was a former newsletter editor and a committee member for the European Oracle Users Group.
Philip Lord studied mathematics at the universities of Reading, Sussex and London. He is the author of numerous articles on information management has many academic publications. He speaks frequently at international forums on data electronic archiving and records management. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
